How long ago did you start orienteering? 19 years ago
How many WOC’s have you been to? 97 – Norway, 99 – Scotland, 01 – Finland, 03 – Switzerland, 04 – Sweden, 05 – Japan, 06 – Denmark, 07 – Ukraine, 08 – Czech Republic, o9 – Hungary
What are your goals this season? I want to run WOC and perform well at COCs and NAOCs.
What keeps you motivated to train for the sport? The (?irrational) belief that, after 17 years of international orienteering, I still haven’t reached my potential or had my best race. That and I really do enjoy the process of training.
What is your favourite event? I like the WOC relay for its national pride and mass participation.Middle distance
Do you have a pre-race ritual? None, although I do try to make it to the start line on time.
What would be your best orienteering memory? My first COC win in 1991 (Buckingham – M15/16). I don’t know how it happened but I was hooked from that moment on.
