How long ago did you start orienteering? 1 year
What keeps you motivated to train for the sport? Knowing that the competition is training with the same goals in mind and that I can always improve, no matter what.
What is your favourite event? The whole THOMASS series. The handicap system makes for strong competition at every event and really emphasizes route choice. The great group of organizers, course setters, and participants make for an excellent experience even in the dead of winter!
Do you have a pre-race ritual? I try to keep my pre-race ritual the same as I would prepare for training. Sleep, good nutrition, strong mental focus, and my morning coffee. Why mess with what already works?
What would be your best orienteering memory? Training with a multiple world champ (Thierry Georgiou) this fall. Being able to see the level of commitment and focus needed to be at the top echelon of the sport was truly inspiring.
