Update regarding the junior program development initiative

The COF has hired three people to work on short-term, part-time contracts relating to junior program development.

Colin Abbott (YOA) is coordinating “Sass Peepre Online”, a pilot project to test methods of offering online training to juniors ages 13-20 who are not currently in the COF’s High Performance Program. Six juniors (3 girls and 3 boys from across Canada) are participating in this pilot project.

Meghan Rance is researching North American Junior Orienteering Programs that currently exist for all ages up to age 20.

Will Critchley is researching overseas junior orienteering programs as well as junior programs in other sports.

At the COF Conference, there will be a session to report on all 3 contracts, and to discuss next steps in Canadian Junior Development.

Thank you to everyone who applied for these positions.

Regards from Anne Teutsch, Kitty Jones and Patrick Goeres
