Duration: Fall and winter 2015-16 on a part-time basis, to be negotiated, with possibility of renewing
Number of positions available: 1-3 depending on skills of candidates
Location: Home office; computer and reliable internet connection are necessary
Contract wages: Commensurate with experience
Background: Orienteering Canada, through the Sass Peepre Committee, is seeking 1-3 highly motivated individuals to assist in developing Junior Program guidelines. The intent of this project is to develop guidelines and resource materials that will assist clubs in either starting a junior program or enhancing an existing one. These guidelines are intended to focus on age appropriate skill development, fitness, safety and fun for both competitive and non-competitive juniors. The successful candidate(s) will be required to work collaboratively and communicate regularly (on a pre-determined schedule) with the Sass Peepre Committee.
Preferred experience should include:
- Current knowledge and experience in Canadian orienteering and the Canadian orienteering sport system
- A strong understanding of the Orienteering Canada LTAD Guidelines
- Experience in program development, new participant recruitment and relevant teaching/coaching experience at the junior level
Competencies and requirements:
- Consolidating, standardizing and assimilating the collected material
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and email
- Project management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to work independently
