Orienteering Canada is looking for mappers to work in Manitoba and Ontario in 2020.
Job Title: Orienteering Mapper
Job Duties: Field checking and mapping of several forested and prairie areas in Manitoba and North-Western Ontario, in particular: Spruce Woods, Neepawa, MB or Kenora, ON areas. Mapping has to be done to current ISOM standards using current orienteering mapping software, such as OCAD.
Terms of Employment: Temporary contract position between 6 and 8 weeks depending on the precise locations of mapping areas that will be defined and the estimation of the time needed to complete the project.
Language of Work: English
Wage: $25 – $30 per hour depending on experience. 40 hours/week max
Benefits: Assistance to find housing and a vehicle will be provided.
Location of Work: Spruce Woods, MB, Neepawa, MB, or Kenora, ON. Additional projects elsewhere in Ontario may become available.

Skills Requirements: No particular formal education requirements, however applicants must be fully conversant with International Orienteering Federation standards for preparation of orienteering maps including ISOM_2017 and ISSprOM_2019. Applicants must be able to provide examples of orienteering maps previously completed and to be proficient with OCAD mapping software. Applicants must be able to work in Canada (Canadian residence or work permit).
