Making a donation to the COF

The COF is a Canadian Registered Amateur Athletic Association, as defined under the Income Tax Act, and as such is able to issue tax receipts to people (individuals and corporations) making donations to the organization. The donor may then claim a tax credit on filing of their income tax return in the amount of the donation. The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency tax registration number for the Canadian Orienteering Federation is 892218165RR0001. The COF issues official donation receipts annually, usually in late January or early February of the year following the year of donation. 

Donations may be directed to a specific COF program or for the general use of the organization in ongoing operations and programs. You can read to COF plan to see what we have going on now.

A little bit of fine print: Under provisions of the Income Tax Act (Canada), the COF cannot issue income tax receipts for donations that are expressly or impliedly conditional on the association of making a gift or donation to a specified person.
