Would you like to donate to Orienteering Canada?

First things first… thank you for considering a donation to Orienteering Canada. Your donation helps us to grow the sport in Canada. And that means a lot.

Orienteering Canada is a Canadian Registered Amateur Athletic Association, as defined under the Income Tax Act, which means that Orienteering Canada can issue tax receipts to people (individuals and corporations) making donations to the organization. The donor may then claim a tax credit on filing of their income tax return in the amount of the donation. We’ll issue tax receipts for donations of $10 or greater.

How to donate:

  • On-line
    • You can donate to Orienteering Canada via Charitable Impact.  You will receive a tax receipt from Charitable Impact and they will forward the money to us. You can leave a note if you wish the money to be geared towards a specific project or program and or if your are donating the money in memory/honour of someone.
    • You can donate to the our Endowment fund via the above link and include a note, or you can contribute directly to the Endownment Fund via this link: tinyurl.com/OCendowmentfund
  • By e-transfer
    • You can donate via etransfer to financeATorienteering.ca. Please fill out this form and email (financeATorienteering.ca) or mail it to us so that we know where to send the tax receipt and how you would like your donation to be used. Orienteering Canada will mail or email you a tax receipt.
  • By mail
    • You can donate by cheque mailed directly to Orienteering Canada. Please print and fill out this form and mail it with your cheque to Orienteering Canada 1239 Colgrove Ave NE Calgary, AB Canada T2E5C3. Orienteering Canada will mail or email you a tax receipt.
    • You can also sent a cheque directly to Charitable Impact with a note on your cheque that the money is for Orienteering Canada. Charitable Impact’s address is Suite 1250 – 1500 West Georgia Vancouver, BC V6G2Z6 Canada.

Donations may be for the general use of the organization in ongoing operations and programs or directed to a specific Orienteering Canada project or program. Here are a few ideas of projects and programs that you may wish to donate to (but not limited to…):

  • Junior Development > for instance helping to finance the Sass Peepre Jr trainign camp and other programs to get kids more involved and lovong orienteering.
  • High Performance > helping to develop our High Performance Program.
  • Endowment Fund > we are setting up an Endowment Fund to help create sustainable long term funding for the Orienteering Canada. We are soliciting seed money for the Endowment fund. If you want to help ensure the long term future of orienteering in Canada, this is the way to do it.
  • Officials Development > help us to ensure that our Officials’ certification program is up to date, well implemented and continually improving.
  • Awareness Projects > help us get the word out about this great sport, help us build our capacity to introduce newcomers to orienteering.

In memory / In honour
You may wish to donate to Orienteering Canada to honour someone who cares deeply about the sport. Or in memory of a friend or family member who loved this sport and has passed away. We cherish these donations and are so grateful.

  • Please read our donation policy regarding fundraising by provincial and territorial associations and their member clubs.
  • The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency tax registration number for Orienteering Canada is 892218165RR0001.
  • Please note: Under provisions of the Income Tax Act (Canada), the Orienteering Canada cannot issue income tax receipts for donations that are expressly or impliedly conditional on the association of making a gift or donation to a specified person.
