Did you know?
...that the best ever finish at the World Orienteering Championships by a North American is 9th place. This great result was achieved by Canadian Sandy Hott Johansen in the middle distance race in Japan in 2005.

  
   



Orienteering Week in Canada (OWIC)

In 2006, Sep 20 - 27th was Orienteering Week in Canada. Here are the 2006 OWIC events:

>>Calgary
Sep 20, 24 and 27th, the orienteering club in Calgary had their OWIC events. Details are here.

>>Whitehorse
Sept 13, 16 and 17th, the Yukon had their OWIC events. Info is here. It's starting to get dark in the evenings earlier and earlier so the Whitehorse events are earlier than the other OWIC events. Here's a photo:

>>Vancouver
The GVOC OWIC club champs in sprint and long were held on Sep 24th. More info is here.
